I know it seems like I'm rarely active on here. I always begin projects (the occasional sparks of inspiration), and drop them like hot coal. I feel so terrible! The truth is that many things keep coming up in my life, and in the past year I barely even had time to sleep. But I have been on here, rather frequently I might add! but mostly as a lurker, admiring other people's art.
I finally graduated high school! I actually begun classes at my university last week. Yes, I'm doing the summer term. There has been a lot of changes in my life. I moved cities so I could attend university, and I had to take my younger brother with me due to family complications. I've been going everywhere, trying to look for a job, one of the managers I spoke to said he might be able to do something this Thursday. I really hope he can. Otherwise, bills will be the doom of me. But I believe things will work out.
University is great! I'm actually attending the University of Central Florida. I was really scared about what I would choose as a major, as I originally declared Computer Science, but decided that it was a decision I would regret because it's not what I really would like to do. So I ended up changing my major to Emerging Media (character animation) with a minor on Computer Science to learn some programming just in case. I want to do some internships to gain experience on both fields while I am still here. I've been practicing art diligently! And I've been improving steadily. Especially with drawing from memory. But I still have a long way, which is why I'm hoping the college classes will help me even more.
I know Art school would have been smarter, there are not a great many amount of state universities with a prestigious Animation program, but one of our our graduates was a main artist of the animated movie "Frozen". Not to mention, that because of its convenient location, the university has made several partnerships with big names like Disney's Pixar, and EA. So I believe this university gives me the sufficient tools. The rest is up to me. I will work very hard! Becoming an animator is extremely difficult. For some reason, some of the other people that want to get into this major think it's easy. I think they're going to find their mistake really soon.
I've gained several new watchers, and I haven't gotten a chance to thank you! SO THANK YOU! I love all of you, and those who have been following me for a long time (if you're still here!). In order to thank my wonderful watchers, I've come up with a win-win situation.
You see, I need to start selling my art, it is what I want to do for a living after all. But in order to get there, I need more work in my gallery that potential customers can peruse through. So I'm opening up free commissions. I know I did this before, and I did not get around to finish everyone's requests (I will get there, even though I'm awfully late). In part, it was because I was extremely busy, and also because I became discouraged.
But anyway! I'm going to open up 3 slots. Whoever comments here, or sends me a note, the first 3 will get a free drawing of their choice. HOWEVER! You can keep commenting even though the slots are taken up. When I finish the first 3 pictures, there's a good chance I'll keep taking requests, but only by order.
There are a few conditions though:
-If you're a watcher, you'll be the priority. Therefore, if you haven't been a watcher of mine, you still can comment, and you may get a free drawing, but my watchers will get priority.
-I'm up to drawing pretty much anything, as long as it's not clearly offensive towards a certain group.
-You can choose a style (anime, realistic, semi-realistic, etc.) I might be even open to drawing a 1 page comic, but you need to write me a really good draft for me to consider it.
-Challenge me! It will be more practice for me after all, so give me something interesting to do!
-Only one piece per person!
-Up to two characters per drawing.
-If it's within my fandoms, you'd probably see me finish faster (Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Naruto, etc.) It doesn't mean I won't draw anything else though.
-Know what you want! Give me a good description and/or references.
-I may not be able to begin the drawings until next week!
Well, what are you waiting for? Comment away!
